Gail Louw – Workshop on Writing Monologues for Stage Plays

The first half of the workshop will be spent discussing issues around monologues using my play Blonde Poison as an example, reading excerpts from it.

In the second half, you will be asked to write a short monologue – or bring one with you. Just a page will be fine. We will then read them and discuss.

Gail Louw is a full-time playwright having spent much of her life as an academic. She now has the luxury of concentrating on researching and writing  plays.  Her plays are performed in the UK, USA, South Africa and Australia.

  • ‘2014 New Writing South/Brighton Fringe Best Play Award’, for Duwayne
  • ‘Highly Recommended’, Camden Fringe 2013, for Blonde Poison
  • ‘Argus Angel Award’ for artistic excellence, Brighton Festival and Fringe 2012, for Blonde Poison

Gail’s plays have been published in 2 collections of plays by Oberon Books – Gail Louw: Collected Plays and Gail Louw: Plays Two.
